Anyone that knows me, knows that I love a good ball cap. They cover up your oily hair when you’ve gone a day too many without washing it (oops) or they are perfect for at least making it look like you have your ish together on a rough day or when you have a bad hair day. Been there, done that, and a hat saves me every time.
I think my collection is at about 16 right now and I have about 6 more that I want…hey…options are needed, okay. Here are my two favorite hat styles for casual and athletic wear.
For Wearing Out & About
This cap is seen everywhere, and you might not even know it. Celebrities, influencers, and every day gals and guys all over the world wear the '47 Brand Clean Up cap. The Clean Up is an unstructured, garment washed, cotton twill hat with an adjustable fabric strap. I have this hat in several different colors for my different sports teams. Not a sports fan and want to go for a nicer look with your outfit? Don’t you worry, ’47 offers the Clean Up in 25+ solid colors for adults! They range from $25-$28, but don’t let the price scare you off. ’47 produces quality hats and they can withstand a lot. One of my hats I have had for over three years and it has been taken through many days, beach trips, and days out on the water and it still looks great! Just some natural color fading from the sun and water, but construction wise, this hat and the embroidery are doing fantastic.
The Clean Up is best paired with a good pair of girlfriend jeans, sneakers, and a solid basic tee. Another option is with leggings or black jeans, your favorite white tee, and a jean jacket. This hat is also great for wearing your hair up, down, or in a bun since it has a lower profile (this means it doesn’t sit too close to your ears), which is great because mid/high-profile hats usually mean I have to have my hair up or it’s hello Dumbo ears! I kid, that’s dramatic…but really, it’s an issue.
For Sports & Stuff
For my athletic gals, working out in a cotton hat isn’t always ideal and if you’re like me…it makes your head itch if you wear one all day. No one else? Cool.
When a cotton hat just won’t do, my FAVORITE hat is the Nike Golf Tech hat. The polyester knit makes this hat breathable and lightweight for working out or being outside all day. This hat is adjustable with snap closures, which is great because it stays better than Velcro. The Nike Golf Tech runs at about $24.99 and comes in 11 different colors!
I have the white hat with the black swoosh and I literally wear it all the time…it might as well be my signature. Now, you’re probably thinking, “Sis, I can’t keep a white hat clean, you’re crazy.” I’m a mess, if I can keep a white hat clean, you can too! When it starts to get dirty just head to the sink with some laundry soap and stain remover and hand wash. My hat has been on my head 75% of days over the last 4 years and I’d say it still looks pretty good! The Nike Golf Tech hat is more casual, so I would stick to wearing it with athletic clothes or sweatshirts and denim. The Golf Tech used to have a middle profile, so it wasn’t the best to wear your hair down with (maybe that’s just on my head). The new version that I linked has a low profile, so it should work with wearing your hair down!
