Hi friends…the 5 people who read this! It’s the end of 2018 and I have taken a couple of weeks off, holidays and well…laziness…I’m a mess. Anyway, I thought I would share a quick round up of my favorite beauty products that I started using in 2018! After I picked the products, I realized these are all what I use for my quick, everyday face minus blush. Needless to say, I am not an expert. I would rather use my fingers than my Beauty Blender…I know, I am a disgrace to makeup. It’s fine. Enough chit chat let’s get down to business!
Clinique Redness Solutions Makeup with Broad Spectrum SPF 15
Okay, the Clinique Redness Solutions foundation in Calming Ivory has been my LIFESAVER. I usually can get by with a very sheer foundation, but over the last year my redness has been worse than ever. This foundation saved me. It seems ridiculous to pay $29 for a 1 oz bottle of foundation but this is worth it. It is still sheer and lightweight, so you can build it for more coverage without looking cakey. The Redness Solutions foundation uses probiotic technology help to strengthen the skin barrier. I have no idea what that means, but the bottle says it and it works so I’ll go with it. If you have problems with redness, I highly recommend this product and the Redness Solutions face cleanser. It has worked miracles on my skin.
NYX Precision Brow Pencil
I have tried so many products on my poor, little, blonde brows and it has been hard to find a product that fills them well and looks natural, until I found the NYX Precision Brow Pencil in taupe. The brow mascaras, gels, powders, and pomades just do not compare to this pencil. For a drugstore brand, this pencil performs quite well. One end is a spoolie and the other is the *slightly* angled pencil, which is great, so I don’t have to keep track of a million tools. It is so easy to blend, shape, and fill my brows with the pencil. Definitely a must-have if you need a cheap brow pencil, it’s only $9.99 and is supposed to be the dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills brow pencil.
Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer
If you don’t like the smell of cocoa powder, I would stay far away from this bronzer. However, I don’t mind it and the Chocolate Matte Bronzer from Too Faced works too good to not use it. This product can be used for bronzer or for contour depending on how much of it you use. The TF Chocolate Bronzer builds well, blends out easy, looks natural, and lasts all day. A big step up from the basic ELF contour I had been using before. It is $30, but I’ve used it almost daily for almost 5 months and I haven’t even made a dent in the pan. Bonus points for it being cruelty free!
Benefit Roller Lash Mascara
So, this mascara is a new thing I’ve tried in the last month and let me say I LOVE IT. I usually use Clinique’s High Impact, but it never gives me the length I want. I tried Urban Decay’s Better than Sex and found it underwhelming (unpopular opinion). Then I found Benefit Roller Lash and my lashes have never looked better. This mascara will make your eyelashes so long, thick, and beautiful without clumping or flaking. It has stolen my heart. Roller Lash is water resistant and comes off super easy with makeup remover, unlike Better than Sex. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Trust me, it is worth the $25.
NYX Matte Liquid Liner
I love a good eyeliner. Having blonde eyebrows and lashes, I feel like I need it to make my eyes pop, which is usually my main goal when I fix myself. I used the ELF liquid liner for years, even though it wore off easy and had a hard to hold brush. I finally got tired of it and tried the NYX Matte Liquid Liner and it has been well worth the extra few dollars. It wears well throughout the night and has a slightly longer brush, making it easier to apply, avoiding the trying to even it out and ending up with a black eye situation. It’s only $7.49, so it won’t break the bank!
